Overview
Institute of Voice ("IOV", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Institute of Voice website and mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including contact details (name, email address, and phone number when you book a trial, enroll, or contact us), student information (age range, experience level, and lesson preferences), and the content of inquiries you send through our forms or AI chat assistant. We also automatically collect limited technical information such as device type, browser, and usage analytics to operate and improve the Service.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to inquiries and schedule lessons, trials, and camps.
- To match students with appropriate instructors and programs.
- To send service-related communications about your bookings.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the Service (for example, our hosting, database, email delivery, and scheduling providers) and only as needed to perform those services. We may also disclose information where required by law.
SMS Communications
By providing your mobile phone number and opting in, you consent to receive SMS messages from Institute of Voice about your music lessons. Messages are transactional only — lesson reminders, cancellations, rescheduling notifications, and make-up confirmations. We do not send marketing or promotional content via SMS.
Information sharing. Mobile information (phone numbers and SMS consent) collected for messaging will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing is limited to subprocessors (e.g. Twilio) that support our messaging operations.
Message frequency. Frequency varies; recipients can expect approximately 2–4 messages per student per month.
Charges. Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging rates from your mobile carrier may apply to messages sent or received.
Opting out. To stop receiving messages at any time, reply STOP to any message we send you. For assistance, reply HELP or email support@instituteofvoice.com.
Children's Privacy
IOV serves students of all ages, including children. When a student is a minor, we collect their information only from a parent or guardian, and we use it solely to provide vocal instruction and related services. A parent or guardian may review, update, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us.
Data Retention & Security
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet our legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may opt out of non-essential communications at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Service.
